Stop words filtered
Phrases made entirely of common words are dropped. Ones that merely contain them, like best of breed, are kept.
Counted within sentences
Phrases never span a full stop, so you do not get invented trigrams that nobody wrote and nobody searches.

Questions people ask
What is a good keyword density?
There is no good number, and anyone quoting one is repeating advice from about 2010. Density stopped being a ranking factor long ago, and writing to a percentage produces pages that read as though they were written to a percentage. Use this to spot a page that never says its own subject, not to hit a target.
Why does this show phrases and not just words?
Because queries are phrases. A page can be about project management software without any single word in that phrase standing out, and single-word density would miss it completely. The two and three word columns are the useful ones.
Should I add my keyword more times?
Almost never. If the phrase genuinely does not appear, that is worth fixing once, in a heading or the opening paragraph where it reads naturally. Repeating it beyond that is the behaviour every spam update since 2011 has been built to catch.
Why are some phrases missing?
Anything appearing only once is filtered out, since a single occurrence is not a pattern. Phrases made entirely of stop words are dropped too.
Is my text sent anywhere?
