Who we are
Ramanujan Technologies LLC operates kiterank (kiterank.com) and is the data controller for the personal data described here. For questions about anything below, write to team@kiterank.com.
What we collect
Account information
Your email address, name, and profile picture, taken from Google when you sign in with it, or just your email address if you sign in with a link. We use these to identify your account and to contact you about the service.
What you give us about your business
The domains you add, the brand profile built from them, your keywords, and the articles we produce for you. This is the working content of the product.
Credentials you connect
If you connect a CMS, we store the credential you supply — a WordPress application password, a Webflow API token, a Shopify admin token. These are stored encrypted, are used only to publish to your own site on your instruction, and are never shown back to you in full or included in support exports. You can disconnect at any time, which deletes the stored credential.
Payment information
Handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep the Stripe customer identifier, your plan, and the invoice history so we can show you what you have been charged.
Usage data and session recordings
We use PostHog for product analytics and session replay, proxied through our own domain. Session replay records how pages were used — navigation and clicks. Input fields are masked, so what you type into a form, including any credential, is not captured. Recordings help us find where the product is confusing or broken.
Sign-in context
When you sign in we record the approximate location and network derived from your IP address, and the referring source that brought you to the site. We use this to spot fraudulent sign-ups and abuse of free credits.
Google user data
If you connect Google Search Console, we request read-only access to the properties you explicitly select. We use it to show you the performance of pages we publish, and to submit new pages for indexing.
Limited use. kiterank's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell this data, do not use it for advertising, and do not allow humans to read it except where you have asked us to for support, where the law requires it, or for security purposes.
You can revoke our access at any time from your Google account permissions, without deleting your kiterank account.
How we use it
- To run the product: research keywords, write articles, publish them, and verify links
- To bill you and to show you what you were charged
- To send transactional email — sign-in links, receipts, and notices about your account
- To provide support when you ask for it
- To detect fraud and abuse
- To improve the product, using aggregate usage and recordings
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your content to train models for anyone else.
Legal bases
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, we rely on: contract for running the service you have paid for; legitimate interests for fraud prevention, security, and product improvement; consent for anything you explicitly opt into; and legal obligation for keeping financial records.
Who else sees it
We use third-party services to run the product. Each one, what it receives, and where it processes data, is listed on our data processors page. Several process data in the United States, which is an international transfer if you are in the UK or EU.
How long we keep it
Account data and your content are kept while your account is open. If you delete your account we remove your personal data and content within 30 days, except for records we must keep for financial and tax purposes — invoices and payment records — which are retained for as long as the applicable law requires.
One exception worth being explicit about: when an account is deleted we keep a one-way cryptographic hash of the email address. It cannot be reversed to recover the address. We keep it solely to prevent the same address from repeatedly creating new accounts to claim free signup credits.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your account and personal data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Restrict or object to certain processing
Email team@kiterank.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not charge for this. If you are in the UK or EU and are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Credentials are encrypted at rest. Access to production data is limited to people who need it to operate the service, and administrative actions taken on an account — including support staff viewing an account — are recorded in an audit log.
Children
kiterank is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy materially we will email account holders rather than quietly updating the date at the top.
