WordPress integration with kiterank

We publish into it

WordPress exposes a REST API, and that is the most direct way into a site. kiterank writes through v2 of it using an application password, a credential you generate for this one purpose and revoke on its own. Your account password never travels.

What it does

  • Arrives as a draft

We create posts with status draft, so an article sits in your editor and not in front of your readers until you say so.

  • A credential you can revoke

An application password is scoped to one app and revoked from your profile screen. Removing it stops publishing and changes nothing else about your account.

  • No plugin to install

This route talks to the REST API your site already exposes. If you would rather your site pull from us instead, the WordPress plugin does that.

How to set it up

  1. 1In WordPress, open Users, then Profile, and generate an application password.
  2. 2In kiterank, open Connections and choose WordPress.
  3. 3Paste your site URL, your username and the application password.
  4. 4Publish a test article and confirm it appears in your drafts.
